DOING BUSINESS WITH A CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE FUTURE!
A GOOD AND AFFORDABLE PRODUCT
At The Gift, we strive for good and affordable products. This already starts with the first ideas for a new collection. What are the trends? Are sustainable or recycled materials possible for this product? In what way can we package the product sustainably? And last but not least: does the factory work according to the strict conditions of the BSCI?
From the samples to the first delivery, transport is extremely efficient. Orders from various factories in the Far East are collected and go to Europe in full containers. This is how we achieve a good and affordable product, for every link in the supply chain.

ON THE BASIS OF THE UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS, TARGETS WERE DRAWN UP TO BECOME EVEN MORE SUSTAINABLE IN THE COMING YEARS. THESE GOALS HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED INTO THE CODE OF CONDUCT ‘A GOOD AND AFFORDABLE PRODUCT’.
WITH US YOU CAN BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBLE PRODUCT IN YOUR HANDS.
WITH GRS CERTIFICATES
In October 2022, The Gift achieved GRS certification after an extensive audit on business and procurement processes. The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certificate is a globally recognized certification for products made from recycled materials. The certificate guarantees that a product is made with a certain percentage of recycled materials and that its production meets specific social, environmental and technical requirements.
The goal for the coming years is to provide certification to as many products as possible.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT IN OUR IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS TOO
Besides doing sustainable business on a global scale, we also actively engage in our immediate environment. We cooperate with apprenticeship companies. We also plant trees every year through Trees for All to offset our carbon emissions through certified projects. Finally, we support the Food Bank by contributing to gift parcels during the December month.

CHOICE OF MATERIALS AND PACKAGING WITH SUSTAINABILITY IN MIND
Our collections are carefully composed, using sustainable and recycled materials as much as possible. Besides the material choice of the products, the packaging is also important. All packaging is designed with sustainability in mind. Our portfolio of sustainable products is constantly expanding. Get to know the materials!
BAGS, TROLLEYS, PLAIDS
Recycled PET Bottles
A strong and eco-friendly plastic sourced from used plastic bottles. The plastic bottles are cleaned and stripped of caps and labels. The bottles are chopped into small pieces to form granules and fibers.
PLAIDS AND KITCHEN TEXTILES
Recycled Cotton
An eco-friendly alternative to cotton. Manufacturing waste and used textiles are collected and chopped into fibers. The fibers are made into a wick that is spun into new yarn.
BASKETS
Seagrass
A durable and strong material used as an alternative to synthetic materials. Seagrass grows in salt water around the world. After harvesting, the seagrass is dried in the sun and then braided by hand.
Candles
Soy Wax
A sustainable alternative to paraffin, made from soya beans. Candles made from soy wax have a lower melting point, which means the candles burn longer. It also releases less soot during burning.
